I know that the theobromine in CHOCOLATE is toxic to dogs in large enough quantities.
What I DIDN'T Know is that ONIONS, GARLIC, and GRAPES are bad for them too...
Lucky for us-my dog hates garlic and onions (causes blood cells to burst in dogs)...but she loves grapes. We've been feeding her a grape or two every now an then for years...And I'm glad we always practiced moderation in letting her eat human foods... (no one really knows why the grapes cause sickness and death in dogs)
Because of the Dog food scare- I went online to research other options- amoung them- making my own dog food- and several recipes I found contained garlic or garlic powder...
Which made me wonder...What else can a dog NOT eat? Does anyone know WHY? and ...How wide-spread is this knowlege?
Answers:Coffee, tea, alcohol, butter, macadamia nuts, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc.
A LOT of people feed their dogs grapes. But they're fatal in large amounts, but so are a bunch of other things.

i have recently found out grapes are bad for dogs, too. and I too have fed my dog a couple grapes every now and then. I guess just dont feed them a huge amount and they'll be fine, but i'm done with feeding her any if theres even a risk. i dont know anything else a dog cant eat...
