What do I do2007-11-25 2:51:19

My dog has diarrhea and loss of appetite and I don't know what to do I don't have the money to take it to the vet so I'm trying to find something i can do at home. She acts normal but she just doesn't want to eat and she has watery stool. Please help every bit of information will help.

How long has this been going on? Over a day or two, you HAVE to find a way to get to the vets! If it's been short term, try feeding your dog boiled rice, chicken stock, canned pumkin, toast- bland things to try to settle her stomach. Make sure she gets plenty of fluids. Really though, it sounds like you need to borrow $ or get a credit card to get to the vet.

my dog gets that because of eating the wrong foods.

it will pass by.

make sure that you take him/her out often and comfort him/her to help her with some tlc.

your dog needs medical help for sure.at least call your regular vet and ask to speak with a vet tech.explain your situation and ask for advice. Diarrhea is fairly generic description .the tech may ask what color it is, how long has this been going on, when was the last meal eaten, did the dog eat something unusual(dead stuff,people food), new situation or environment that would stress the dog etc. there may be some things you can try at home but more info is needed. is your dog drinking? does she breath normally? please call your vet office now and get on your techs list for call backs this afternoon.

If you can give the dog Colostrum that will help her. Sounds like she has a bacterial problem. Make sure her dog food is not one that has been recalled. Call the petstore, they should have a list of the recalled food. Good Luck.

how old is your dog? if it is still a puppy i would worry it is parvo.
