English Cocker or American , Also who owns a cocker and what type is it ??

I have two English Cockers.

We don't own any cockers but we have 6 cockapoos at the moment (lol, 4 were just born and going to be sold). But I studied the 87 AKC accepted breeds and I find the English Cocker Spaniels are a lot more pleasing to the eye.

I prefer English cockers because they are less popular in this country and somewhat less likely to be as overbred as american cockers. Also, American cockers seem to fill both ends of the temperament spectrum...when they're good, they're angels but when they're bad they're REALLY bad! English cockers seem to have a more stable and predictable temperament (although I'm sure American cockers from a good breeder would have a fairly predictable temperament too). I also like the looks better. I don't own either breed but I do work at a vet and attend training classes with a trainer that has several of both breeds as clients.

I like the English Cocker Spaniel for looks and temperament. If I were to show my Cocker, I would get the American instead.
