They are lap dogs, meaning you can't leave them alone for too long.. Thats why you always see them with thier owners. they get really really anxious if you leave them alone for more than 10 minutes. They are so tiny that tossing the ball across your living room a few times gives them all the exercise they need. The great thing about them is that you can use wee wee pads as opposed to walking them. they are great apartment dogs and the silky ones do not shed. good luck and have fun!!!

i love yorkies except for the fact that they are a breed that tends to bark a lot..they are actually my favorite breed...i would suggest that you keep there coat short (puppy cut) they do better and it is easier with the daily grooming you have to do.they do well in apartments as long as they get plenty of play time.they like to travel to cause they LOVE to be with there people..they are little clowns..and they think they are a big dog so you have to watch that they don't get into trouble...but yah i think that they would be a good dog for you if you aren't gone all day...

I think of them as the way they used to be. Vermin hunters. Good prospects for eathdog, which you can do where ever you live.

i think any small toy breed dog should either be shooting practice for the army, i can see them letting them out on a big field and having the gun men stand there and aim and fire at the little pipsqueaks, or, they should be fed to rottweilers or any large breed dog as a free running, annoying chew toy. that is my opinion.
