What do you think of greyhounds
I think they are gorgeous dogs. I've been in love with this breed since I was a kid, and visited a family friend who had several rescue dogs. Among her dogs were 2 greyhounds. I spent the whole day with those two dogs, and have wanted one of my own every since! The more I read about the breed, the more I fall in love with them. I love the fact that they can be such couch potatoes, but still need regular exercise; the fact that they don't bark and don't shed much; I love their sweet dispositions and sleek athletic bodies. You can tell at a glance that this is a creature MADE to run. I also love the fact that physically, they are unusual, with their long slim faces, small ears, and long necks. I could sit and draw them all day.(I'm an art major ^_^) So yes, I absolutely adore this breed and can't wait to have one of my own. And I do think that more people need to be educated about what wonderful pets greyhounds make-people are not as familiar with them as with other dog breeds, and it's sad because so many ex-racers need loving homes.
Please continue your efforts in getting people informed on this amazing dog!
I never thought any of those things except I thought they needed more exercise than other type dogs.
Thanks for informing us about this wonderful breed of dog.
ARGHH!!! The hot poker in the starting box is a MYTH! There is not such practice. Why would you want to make a Greyhound nervous about getting into the starting box if it thinks it's get a hot poker in the rear. Trust me, if a GH is past its madien/schooling races, it is WAY too excited by the lure than to sit in the box.
