Answers:The answer to this question is which ever suits your personality best. Some people are cat people and some people are dog people.
A dog looks to you as his best friend and provider that brings in the food and they are very devoted.
A cat looks to you as their personal servant. They like you when they want something, when they get what they want from you, then they are too independent and only want to be left alone.
You own the dog and a cat own you.lol
Either one is a large commitment on your part. It is for the life of the animal. You are totally responsible for their care for life. Make sure that you have time to devote to them before you make the choice.

This depends on many factors.
How much time and energy do you have to give the pet? A dog takes a lot more energy and needs to go on walks.
What can you afford? In my experience, dogs are more expensive to care for than cats. Although, cats are not cheap either. You have to be prepared for vet bills, food, litter, etc.
