What it means is, if 2 GSD were mated from that had low hip scores or hereditary problems than there is a chance the puppy's will have these problems therefore being poor bred, people do this to make money not thinking about the consequences. If two GSD are bred from that are kennel club registered and have good hip scores and no underlying conditions they will be well bred. When buying a dog a good breeder will have all these documents for you to see and you will always see the mother with her pups, always be abit suspicious if the breeder doesn't show you the mum or the kennel club documents.

If the GSD is an adult or older puppy it is very hard to determine if it is well bred, you will begin to notice if from a Early age if they get hip dyplasia and other conditions.

Also temperament in the dogs as you wouldnt want two aggressive GSD being bred from.

Look at their tongue, if it is pink, it is a pure bred, if it is a mix mutt, then the tongue will not be pink...

I'm not specific, but our two dogs are both pure bred chihuajuas, yes, very fortunate for me, with all the barking they do.

OFA means the hips are in there proper place. which is one of the thing that GSD do have a problem with. the german breed GSD are better and stronger in the rear ends than the american breed dogs.l
