Rotties, dobermans and german shepherds, mostly but there are small dogs with those colors, like mini pinschers, manchster terriers, etc. Check the ACK website.

If you don't know what it is, how are you getting one? Sounds like it could be a number of dogs, but Doberman is my first choice.

Many dog breeds have the black and mahogany colored coats, swissys, bernese mt. dog, rotties, dobies... gordon setters. many dogs come in the color combination you described.

You should really put more thought into a dog than just what it looks like, before you adopt, there is HUGE difference between a gordon setter and a rott.

One comes to mind immediately and that is the rottweiler. It will have a brown spot over each eye, a brown eagle on it's chest and four brown socks. It should also have a stubbed tail. If that is what it is, if you like big, sweet dogs (but can be aggressive) it's for you

You should look into the breed before you just go and buy one. I mean...you don't even know what it is called. Don't you care about its yappiness, health problems, personality? Its people like you who make dogs go into shelters. I mean look what happened when 101 dalmations came out. People didn't care about the breed trait.they just wanted one just to find out that they don't make a great first pet.

Huh, there are a lot, though the most common are the Doberman Pinscher (tall & slim), the Miniature Pinscher (toy dog), the Black & Tan Coon Hound (tall, slim, with long droopy ears and a big muzzle), and the Rottweiler (large and heavy-set).
