Should I buy a puppy or adult.? What type of breed... how about a pug, chihuahua, or a jack russel?

Answers:

No doubt about it -- a pug. They are the funniest, cutest, loveable, dogs on this earth. Pugs rule. They are defnitely the best. I do love all dogs but man I love those pugs.

well it depends it your are getting it to be a family dog if so the breed should be a nice reliable breed like some type of lab but if not then get what ever and puppy's are normally better because you can train the form the start and they will learn to bond with you better

You should choose a breed of dog based on your own lifestyle, personality, training skills and the time you'd be willing to commit to grooming and exercising the dog. Go to www.akc.org and research breeds. Pay particular attention to the function for which the breed was originally developed. This will give you insight into the dog's temperament, activity level etc.

The type of dog should be determined by your lifestyle activity level and financial abilities to provide a safe loving home. Puppies require 3-5 vet visits in the 1st year if they are healthy for shots and getting fixed plus they need lots of time for training and proper play. You may want to check out a local shelter to see if they have something you may like and ask if you can take the puppy/dog home to see how it fits into your family-many shelters are now dong this to prevent people from bringing them back after they find they can't take care of it.
