I know chocolate, grapes, raisins, and onions. My mini schnauzer loves scrambled eggs, strawberries, carrots and tomatoes, apple slices and of course peanut butter. She is very healthy and has not had any sort of reaction to any of these foods. I would rather give her a carrot than a fatty "dog" treat as a snack or training reward.

Some of the snacks that my dog gets on occasion are baby carrots, apple slices, oranges, peanut butter, romaine lettuce, yogurt (1 tablespoon), cottage cheese (1 tablespoon), and dried seaweed (like used in sushi).

And you're right about the dog "treats" - they are actually packed with junk that dogs really shouldn't have. Pet food manufacturers are more concerned with how cheaply they can produce something for maximum profit than the actual health of their customers' pets, however much they advertise otherwise.

Any dog food thats cheep. If you see the colour coming off the food and onto their faces you know that its not good for them.

I know that dogs don't like vegetables or fruits (at least from my experience), peanut butter is bad for them, and if I were you I would taok to your veteranarian about what other "dog treats to give". They'd know all about that!

Your on the right track, but know that dogs can not digest vegetables. They are carnivores. While giving a carrot is better than a "dog" treat, Fido can not digest it and gets little to no nutrition from it.
