WHAT IS OUR WORLD COMING TO?!!

I don't have anything against Labradoodles. I just don't understand why mutts are costing just as much and even more than purebreds. There used to be a day when mutts were free. Honestly I think they make better dogs.

Its called back yard breeders and overbredding these dogs are getting lots of health problems becuase of it.

not to be rude but i've owned 3 jack russels and one of them saved my childs life...i dont really apperciate you downing jacks like that.

You can thank commercial dog food for cutting the lifespan down and for alot of the other health problems dogs have today. I love my dog and want her around for a long time. That's why I feed RAW.

Indescriminate breeders and puppy mills happened.

The AKC is partly at fault - especially in the registering of obvious puppy mill dogs - but for the most part, I don't blame the AKC. They're a registration and lineage tracking club for the most part, not the breeder police.

People who ARE at fault are the people who buy dogs from pet stores and backyard breeders - and then BREED their dog.

And HeatherH: She wasn't downing JRTs - she was expressing sadness that the AKC recognizes them, and it's sort of an expression with dog people that once an AKC recognizes a breed, it immediately goes down the tubes as a bazillion backyard breeders immediately ruin it. (It's happening right now with Shiba Inus, MY breed, and it makes me just as sad.) She was downing the AKC if anything, not the breed.
