what if you had a dog for a really long time14 and a half years and when you got him as a baby you got him from the pound with parvo and he lived and than at age 9 he developed a allergy to dog food and kept throwing up .he than started eating homemade dog food and wasnt sick at all for many years.Than 7 months ago he had a vestibular attack .He had fool recovery in days.Than 6 months ago he tore he ligament in his knee .I gave him adauqan injections .He had arthritis and soon started doing well again.Well this month he is in pain blooding stool and crying .The vet seen maybey possible something fishy about the stonmach exray but noy to sure .Opionions anyone .Only serouse one

I might think that 14 1/2 years living in a home that gives so much of their time, concern, love and finances to a dog is more than (sadly) many dogs get. You clearly have given your dog the best life possible, and part of loving them, in their older years, is knowing when to call it quits. I would ask the vet what other tests could be run, and if this goes on for more than a few days, or your dog requires major surgery to fix it, it may be time to consider putting him down. Sometimes we can love them best by not letting them suffer. My heart goes out to you-

Wow. I'm very sorry that I really don't know what to say. I wish you the best of luck, and that I am very sorry that you and youre loved pet are enduring so much. But it says a lot for who you are as a person for going through all this for your dog. Many people would give him up to a shelter or pound or even put him down. Oh I am so sorry that your dog is ill. Unfortunately it just sounds like age is catching up with him. He may have digestive issues attibuted to the food allergy and such. 14 1/2 is very old for a dog. I am sorry to say this but it may just be his time. Only you know your dog and if his quality of life is that poor it may be time to say your good-byes and let him be in peace.
