What is a better breed dog, between a beagle and a pembroke welsh corgi2007-11-25 2:52:20

I'm looking for a dog that doesn't need to b taken for a walk that much and a small yard. Also to get along with a pug. We plan on getting both around the same time so they can grow up together.

Answers:

Beagles are sporting dogs, and they need LOTS of exercise. If you do not have time to devote to exercising and playing with a dog, I do not suggest owning one.

i love beagles there so much fun but then again corgi's can be really funny too, corgi's can be nasty and tend to chase cars, my choice would be a beagle.

i dont know about pembroke welsh corgi but beagles are great dogs but they need lots of room to run. Try a boston terrier they are great dogs with family and other pets. they are smaller too and dont need much upkeep. They are content inside like pugs are and dont need to be walked like pugs dont. beagles need room to run.

the mother queen has all corgis so they cant be all bad right and if they are both puppies they will grow together and learn to get along of course you understand that they will vil for alpha and beta positions in the house hold and you must make sure they understand who is the alpha YOU AND YOU WIFE IS THE OTHER ALPHA IF YOU HAVE A WIFE good luck and enjoy they are great dogs pug and corgis

I have a friend with one corgi & one beagle. I'm sure personalities come into play here by her corgis is bossy - they are herding dogs & want to push people & pets around & will nip your ankles or the other dogs to get their way.& his bark is a ear piercing. Her beagle is really laid back. Both are house dogs in a condo, but she walks them several times a day. All dogs need excercise, either a walk or a fenced yard.

Don't get a Beagle they are hunting dogs and need lots of exercise.Quite frankly I don't think with the situation you describe that a dog of any sort would be suitable.

They are very, very different dogs. Beagles are scent hounds, easily distracted by their noses, independent thinkers and affectionate, playful dogs. They require a fenced yard. Corgis are herding dogs and can be very active and intense, but easily trained.
