What is a better breed dog, between a beagle and a pembroke welsh corgi2007-11-25 2:52:20

When deciding what breed of dog to get, it's important to focus on the function the breed was developed for. That will tell you a lot about it's intelligence, activity level and temperament.

You are trying to compare an apple to an orange. A Beagle is a Hound with completely different needs (and personality) than a Corgi which is a Heeler (Herding dog)

I would suggest a trip to the library.

Firstly, you should understand that any training you do with these new dogs can not be done at the same time. The work involved is double trouble. As far a breed is concerned, smaller dogs often need lots more excersise than you think. It is the huge breeds that are slobs and lazy when it comes to walkies.

Perhaps if you aquire one dog first, train him and then get the second one. Pugs are lovely dogs, as are pekes. matching in size and two males are better than two females. I am a Professional Behaviour and Trainer for dogs and their owners. I do hope I have been of some help.

Corgis are wonderful, but I'm afraid they would not be the dog for you. While they are great family dogs and super easy to train, I do not think it would be the dog for you. They need a lot of physical exercise and an immense amount of mental exercise and stimulation.

All dogs have physical and mental needs that need to be met on a daily basis.

to be quite honest with you, either don't bother getting another dog if you can't be able to exercise them. failing that a churchill dog would probably suit as they can be notorius for not bothering with exercise.
