The Beagle is a hunting hound originally bred to hunt hare, pheasant and quail and as such is a lively,hardy and extremely active breed, which needs a fair amount of exercise. Reputed to be affectionate and a good companion. The Corgi is a working dog being bred to herd livestock, reputed to be lively, spirited and affectionate, also needing exercise.

The best people to speak to are those who own and breed them contact the kennel club for a list of breeders who will be only too happy to tell you all about their chosen breed.

I wouldn't recommend getting two puppies at the same time, buy one and house train that one, wait about 6 months then buy another one, two at the same time is double the trouble!

if you want a dog that does not need to much excersize a beagle is definatley not the breed you want they are very busy dogs and need to be occupied and have loads of excersize so a corgi is going to be a better choice

although they require excersize as all dogs do evens chihuahuas !!! they will not require as much as a beagle who is bred to be a hunting dog and run miles everyday

Both dogs are great pets but both need alot of exercise,the beagle is a hound breed and the corgi a herding breed,they also need to be kept mentally occupied to prevent boredom.Beagles can be stubborn to train and perseverence is the key,there friendly with other pets,children and adults.They are prone to wondering if they pick up a interesting scent and it is vital you teach a beagle the recall command 100%!!Corgi's are high spirited,active affectionate dogs,they can be known to be little ankle biters but obviously with the right training this can be prevented.No breed is better then any other breed,it all comes down to personal preference and your current circumstances.Personally i would recomened the pembroke welsh corgi,esp if your a novice or 1st time dog owner.Good luck.

You might want to consider that beagles are famous for enjoyng other dogs poo. Also they are very active.

both of these have deformed legs ... so why not get a small dog that is not so deformed

no matter what size dog you get it will still need to be taken for a walk, even small dogs need muscle structure, and you get that with going for daily walks.

it is hard to say which breed is better..it all depends on you(family, time you have etc)
