I have a male english bulldog his name is sherman's iron mike ( he has a dark patch over is eye that looks like mike tysons tattoo on his face) I call him "Tyson" for short. If I ever get a female bulldog I will name her sherman's head of the class and I will call her "Robin" for short (in honor of tyson's first wife).

If I had an English Bulldog, I would call him "Beauford" or "Mutley Crue" or "Mutley" (for short) or "Sarge" if a male. For a female, I would call her "Bess".

First name that comes to mind is Joe. I personally dont like descriptive names for pets, unless it can double like a real name, such as pearl, angel, or cookie, but for an english bulldog? Those are the short ones right? Is it a boy or girl? I like Bubba too, lol it fits a bulldog, it sounds like a name for a chubby unattractive redneck with a real sweet personality.
