Dogs are social animals and want to be with you, you and your family are the new pack, and they want to be part of it, not exciled to the pin in the back yard. As for paper training, try crate training. You can start that as soon as you get them. You will have a puppy realizing not to pee or poo in there crate within a couple weeks at the most. From there, you can move to house breaking, but you may find that he still will go in his crate from time to time to sleep. My four yr old German Shepherd does it all the time. Hope this helps

paper training is when you train your dog to go pottie on newspapers - i would not reccommend it- your dog can sleep inside in a smaller traveling type of kennel, if you feel the dog is too young for outside, what are the specifics, age, climate in your area, safety outdoors, fence , city, country, suburb fenced?

I wouldn't recommend paper training as it teaches a dog to wee/poo on paper rather than in the right place - the garden. But it's fine for a puppy to sleep outside at any age, if the climate's okay - in fact if you're intending it to do so, the earlier the better because otherwise it will get used to being inside.
