Have you tried bark collars? They are a much more humane option then surgery, and seem to be fairly affective as long as you use a nice one and remember to change the batteries. A bark collar is something that you want to spend the money on and get a nice one. The cheap ones do not last as long, and they often will correct (i.e. shock) the dog even when it is not barking. Innotek is a good brand.

Ideally, you will be able to get a professional trainer to help you with your dog. They can help modify the behavior so that you and the dog are both happy.

Why on Earth would you dare do something so incredibly inhumane?! You need to turn your dog into the SPCA and forget about ever owning a pet again! Only puppy mills are as selfish, stupid and inhumane enough to debark their dogs.

WTF?? I have never heard of this, but why? Dude, just train him not to bark, and please tell me that you don't plan on having kids.

Chill out people ! I don't know this person's reasons for asking about a de-bark, but some de-barks are done for VERY good reasons.

I don't know how much it is anymore. I used a vet that specialized in de-barks..it was a one day visit and home that night. He only charged $50 per dog, I took him 3 adults.

I had a psycho neighbor, so rather than have my dogs DIE or lose them I de-barked them. They still barked, but only I heard them. Didn't bother the dogs much at all. I called it whisper barking. I loved my dogs and owned them till they died of old age, healthy and happy and not silenced just quieter.
