What is the best and cheapest flea medicine for dogs2007-11-25 2:51:48

My dog has really bad fleas and I don't like them as much as he does. They don't only go to him, but me too! I need to get rid of them, and fast. Is there any kind of medicine that I can put on him that will make the fleas go away and not try to bite me too?

The best kind is at you vet's office. You should also get heartworm medication for your dog. Fleas can cause heartworms in pets.

While it's not the cheapest, Frontline Plus is one of the safest and most effective products for flea control. It sounds like you may have fleas in your house, as well. You'll have to treat that first, otherwise, it won't do any good to just treat the dog.

By the way, fleas do not cause heartworms..that's mosquitoes. Fleas can carry tapeworms, though.

I would get Gold's flea and tick dog wash ...bathe the dog with it...then get the Hartz flea collors 2 in 1 action fights against fleas/ticks/eggs.etc...

Hartz is a really cheap and good brand to use.
