What is the best breed for me2007-11-25 2:51:48

I'm looking for a big dog that can be a guard dog in the house. I want one that doesn't shed alot or druses everywhere. The dog needs to be good with kids and easy to train.

Any mixed breed of dog will be just as good a guard dog as a pure breed.Look in the shelters for Shepherd mixes,Doberman mixes,Lab Mixes or even Hound mixes. All of these cross breeds or pure breeds will be good with kids and good watch dogs. As far as shedding goes. All dogs shed.If you want to cut down on the amount of hair, go to a grooming salon every 8 weeks from spring to fall.

I have a huge lab. he sheds, but you dont need to groom him because he doesnt have a really think coat like german shepards. they also make excellent guard dogs and are wonderful with kids

Well, here's one that sheds but it's a great babysitter: Great Pyrenees dog. It's also a very calm dog, & just the sheer size of it is enough to ward off any intruders.
