What is the best way to house train a boxerSometimes she goes on her pee pads, and others, just wher2007-11-25 2:52:03

She is about 3 months old, but she weighs about 19 lbs. already..so she's kinda hard to control. PLEASE HELP!

I agree praise her when a job is well done, i found that if you telkl her to use the bathroom as you take her out, its like teaching her to use the bathroom, to this day my 2 yr old german shepherd uses it as a command. Also if you catch her in the act only then can you tell her no. puppies are like children, they can only be punished for what they just did, not what they did 20 mins ago. If this dosent work for you, perhaps try crate training. a dog will not use the bathroom in their bed, so this helps a lot when your working, or away from home, also at night. however keep in mind a puppy can only hold their pee 1 hour to how many months they are. example 3 months = 3 hours.

Well, she will never be house trained using pee pads. You're only teaching her to pee on the floor.

Take her outside about every 30 minutes and wait until she pees. The praise the bejeepers out of her! Puppies always go as soon as they wake up and as soon as they eat. So be prepared to whisk her out the door immediately.

She will catch on really fast, most of mine have been house trained in less than two weeks. It helps to crate her at night, since no dog will pee in their sleeping quarters. Then scoot her outdoors as soon as she wakes up. This will teach her to let you know when she has to go.

If you have a puppy, you have to watch them constantly. If you catch them peeing tell them no, then take them outside and tell them to pee. Carefull when they get big they pee a lot!!!

I took my dog to that Petsmart training class thing and it really helped! I don't have a Boxer tho.

Get rid of the pee pads. You might want to consider utilizing a kennel cab for when she is unable to be supervised. Also, you will want to take her out an average an hr for every one month of age, so every three to four hours at this point, at least. It is possible she may make it overnight or with one potty break in the night.
