What is the best way to stop a puppy from biting

Give him a sharp, strong, deep-voiced 'NO' and push him gently but firmly away from you and don't make eye contact, then wait, if he does it again repeat the exercise. If he does it a third time give him a 'dominance roll-over'. Take him by the scruff (as his mother would do) lay him on his side and place your hand across the top of his nose. Hold him there until he stops squirming. When he stops, let him up and tell him 'good boy' in a gentle voice.

Now call a local, reputable training school and take him to Puppy Kindergarten and learn to socialize him properly or you will have bigger problems in the future.
