There is nothing wrong with Purina foods. People love to slam Purina because they are the big guy on the block.
I have nine titled show Champions here, all on Purina diets, plus an AAQ Master Hunter (see avatar) that is also on a Purina diet. And quite franklly thay are on Purina diets because THEY WIN on it.
I would suggest that there are better Purina products than the ones you are using. The Purina One line from the grocery store or Pro-Plan line from a feed store are much better quality.
Purina is an ok food, not great but ok. The reason many dog people don't like it, is because of all the fillers which means the dog has to eat more to keep the right weight and they end up pooping more, because they can't digest all the filler.
Purina ONE is better or Purina Pro Plan. Those are the only Purina foods I would feed these days. Many dogs get dry skin on Dog Chow, but not all.
Why do you have a dog that you keep outside? Cockers love to be with their families. If it pees when it gets excited or because it is submissive you can get the dog over that, through desensitizing it.
As long as you are happy with your dogs' skin and coat and they are doing well, that's what I use to grade my food.
I feed Innova EVO, but my dogs burn off calories really fast right now.
The Purina Pro Plan is good for your adult dogs. They have it the small bites too so you can feed it to both. The puppy, however, needs the extra nutrients in the puppy food. Thats why I went with Pro Plan - - It also contains DHA which is good for growing pups. When your pup is 12-18 months old, you should have no problem adjusting it to the adult food. Don't let anyone tell you anything about the food you feed them. I do want to say, though, that when I switched my puppy from Iams to Pro Plan, she doesn't have close to the amount of waste as she used to. That's very important to me. And the Pro Plan Selects is all natural, if you are into that sort of thing.
