Sounds like the dog might of had a seizure!!

I have had dogs that have had seizures and they can act think this.

I would take your dog to the Vet tomorrow and have it checked out.

Keep a close watch on the dog tonight.

P.S. Does the dog seem to know you. Does the dog's head seem to lean to one side or another?? Does the dog walk alright?? It could of had a light stroke even???

IF you think something is actually wrong then call a vet but I think maybe he was just goofing off. They do that especially if he only did it during dinner he may have been asking for a scrap from the table is all. Just watch him for awhile and if he does not act ill then he was just being a clown is all. If starts to act wrong or if he does it uncontrolably then call your vet.

Don't jump straight to the seizure conclusion, though you may want to pay close attention to see if it happens again. It could have simply been a scent in the air that bothered or excited him. If it happens again, look to see if there are any triggers. Cooking dinner, for instance, would be a scent trigger. If it is happening with any regularity with no trigger, if the dogs eyes roll back when it happens, or if there is foam at the mouth, relax the dog as much as possible and make a vet appointment pronto. From your description, seizure is not the first thing that jumps to my mind, but it is always best to consult a vet.

i know that they have been recalling dog food. could this possibly be the cause? i think you should call the vet.

It sounds neurological to me. A tweak in the neck area maybe and maybe will flare when excited. Was he thinking he might get a treat? Begging? Excited? My advice is to seek a vet who practices Chiro and acupuncture. An xray of the neck area might be in order.

Its most likely a seizure. He may be ok, but he definately needs to be checked out by your vet. Watch him, write down everything that he is doing before, after, and during the incidents.
