I went to a pet shop and saw two puppies. A miniature poodle and a **** zu. Which one should I purchase and why. What should I know about the dogs before I purchase one? I would like a puppy to keep in the house for my teenage daughter. She wants a cat, but I'm allergic to cats. Details please. Thank you.

well, in order to make a good suggestion i'd hafta know your living arrangements. if you live in an apartment a shih tzu is a better choice. if you get a poodle i'd go for something smaller than a mini maybe a toy poodle, poodles have more personality than a shih tzu but shih tzu are more quiet and controlable. happy puppy hunting!! also both of these dogs would be good candidates due to your allergies.

Firstly, perhaps reconsider buying from a pet shop. Some, but certainly not all, get their animals from puppy mills. These animals often have genetic problems from inbreeding. The best place to go is to a local breeder. As for what kind of animal to get, that fully depends on your needs! How much time do you have to spend with the puppy?
