I have a brother and sister team named Barney and Thelma Lou. We've had them since they were about 7 weeks old. They've been best friends since birth, from a litter of 6. They're supposed to a Spitz/Huskey mix, but I think one of the daddies was a German Shepherd (female dogs can have puppies in the same litter from numerous fathers). Barney is pure white except for his brown eyes and pinkish-brown nose, and has the curly Spitz tail. Thelma Lou looks like a miniature shrunken German Shepherd, but also has the curly tail. Their tails curl in opposite directions. They are each other's best friends, and where one is the other is bound to be. They are absolutely rotten, have no bounderies at all, and completely run our house. Which is just the way we like it! They WILL mind, but would rather train us to do their bidding than the other way around. They kill each other many times a day, love to tear up their babies (plush toys) and pull out all the "guts" all over the floor, kill both of us whenever the mood strikes, and Thelma Lou is the designated "nagger". She starts letting us know about 20 minutes before any regularly scheduled activity (breakfast, supper, snack, feeding the fish, bedtime) just to make sure our old brains don't forget. When we don't pay attention, she gets frustrated and grabs our pants legs to try to pull us where we're supposed to be. She's completely addicted to belly rubs, and loves to wash my face and ears (I guess I don't do it right!). Barney loves to get kisses and be held, and both of them try to hog the bed at night. We find ourselves clinging to the edges, with the two of them stretched out sideways right in the middle. It's amazing how long such medium size dogs can be! They're pound puppies, like nearly every pet I've ever had, and they're wonderful. I love them like they're my children, and they love everybody ( the mailman, UPS driver, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, newspaper deliverer, even bill collectors!). Once Barney, who's fascinated by bugs, bit a firefly, which got stuck in his teeth. For the next 15 minutes or so, every few seconds his mouth would glow green! It was hilarious! He looked like he'd swallowed an alien.
