What may be the cause of his apathy
My dog started acting strangely, he is apathic and realy was just lying all day. Tomorow morning I am taking it to vet (its late afternoon now), but in the mean time I want to find out as much as possible about the possible cause of this.
My three things I could come up with:
1) he's just exhausted (I took him on a pretty long walk'n'run)
2) the teething is causing this (his back teeth are comming)
3) lyme disease (he had tick about week ago)
Can I find out which of this is it most likely? How long does lyme disease take to show symptoms?
Can teething cause apathy? (I gave him treats and he didn't eat them, he just took it in his mouth and didn't chew it)
Answers:is he epileptic?
how old is the dog?
teething will cause the dog to chew everything in site give it a good rawhide bone soaked in hot water for a little while then cool off will make it easier on the gums. is your dog about 4-5 month old?
You can actually walk your pup to far. A pup should not be walked far, they need time for there bones joints etc to grow to much running etc especially on large breeds can cause problems later in life.
you should start to walk your dog little walks by the time they are 6 month old walking getting further etc.
You said it had a tick I hope you did not pull it off.
Has your dog recently had its inoculations?
