What should I do about my moms dog
What should I do about my moms dog2007-11-25 2:53:06
Congratulations on your new family member.
talk to your mom about it. if she doesn't want to take on the responsibility then take the dog away
well ask your self... . Should i help the dog and hurt my mom for who knows how long or should i let my mom be happy and let the dog take the risk...you can also take the dog for your slef fix her up and then give it bacck . do what u think is best for your realationship with your mom
I would take the dog back and hope that would give her the idea that I meant business. If she cares about the dog then losing him might get her in gear. That doesn't solve the her getting mad problem but you will have a nice cuddly friend to hang out with after you get done fighting. I do want to add that while my pets do all get regular vet visits animals are built for the wild. They have all the skills to heal themselves in most cases and the ability to hunt for food. My mom doesn't take her pets to the vet unless there's a emergency but that don't mean that their not loved and well taken care of. Some people just don't see the need for the extra expense esp older people, old habits are hard to break and the vet is something that wasn't done years ago like it is today.
Tell your mom that for the dog's sake, it's going to come live with you and she can visit it anytime she'd like.
It sounds like the real problem to me is your mom hitting the slots when she isn't taking care of basic responsibilities. I have no idea if she's "addicited" to gambling, and I won't rush to make that judgement, but if she's saying she has no money and is still hitting the casinoes, maybe you should investigate. Gambling can be a nasty thing for a family to work through, so you want to nip it in the bud, if that's the case.
You could try giving her a time limit like a month or whatever you think is fair to have the things done and tell her your taking the dog back if its not done. Maybe even see if she will sign some sort of agreement so when the time comes their isnt an agrument.
Im glad you are looking out for the dogs welfare at least! If she doesnt seem to be that concerned. I would certainly talk to her about it. Tell her that you would be glad to care of the dog if it is too much for her. Hope things turn out for the best for everyone, but its a good thing that you are trying to help the dog if she is too busy for him and isnt caring for him the way she should.
