Her best bet would be that you put an ad for her owners (lost and found) in the paper, put flyers up at vet clinics, pet stores, on road signs, etc to get the word out that she has been found.

Or you can turn her into animal control, and they will give a certain number of days for her to be claimed, and then either put her up for adoption or euthanize her if she is to ill or not suitable for adoption.

No kill shelters here require a drop off fee, even if you claim the animal is a stray, to help with vet, medical and feeding costs.

You can do a search for shelters in your area at http://www.petfinder.com to locate ones near you and find out what their policies are by contacting them.

enter some information at your local lost and found articles in your news paper.

and take the animal to paws and claws shelter nearest you.(paws and claws is like a animal shelter only they dont put them down.) or some thing like it! and take it to the vet to get screened for a special micro chip. they will know what it is! the chip can tell where the dog goes for a vet office! should not cost anything!
