What should have for my new puppy when I bring it home the first time2007-11-25 2:53:05

I reall want to know all the supplies I need for my new puppy. I have about a montyh and a half to get everything.

your breeder , if responsible, will supply you with food, etc. contact them and they will be more than happy to help,,, make sure they give you all the paper work for registering, proof of eye exam,, etc.

A small crate (for potty training)

Dog brush and comb

Frontline for fleas

A quality puppy food

Safe puppy toys

Make sure when you get puppy to take him to the vet for a physical. Good luck, I love puppies.

Food (preferable the type they're already being fed, and a new type to mix, if you plan on changing the food), food/water bowls, leash, collar, ID tag, reliable vet, plenty of hardy chew toys, dog bed, dog crate, dog carrier (if a small breed)

When I received a hybred wolf as a puppy years ago, what was getting to me was the constant crying in the middle of the night. The puppy was kept in a large metal crate but wanted to be around people. The vet suggested getting a wind up clock (the old fashion type) and put it in the crate wrapped in a blanket. The ticking of the clock, she said, resembled the puppy's mothers heartbeat and helped it sleep through the night. I was doubtful but it sure did work! I was amazed. I tell everyone about this now.

A place for it to sleep, two leashes(one long, one short), three collars(one for license, one chock-chain, one pinch), food, two food bowls, squeaky and rolley toys, treats, and a nice backyard enclosure for him to play in. Congrats on your new pup!
