What should i do if my dog gets in a fight with another dog and my is on a leash2007-11-25 2:53:07

Do i let her off the leash to defend herself or try to pull her away? She is a big German shepherd female who is not usually looking to fight but if a dog comes up to her then thats it.

Let'r off the leash. I've got a female German Shepherd and my mom would walk her, and she was attacked before, and my mom just pulled her away, and wouldnt let her fight. Now she is afraid of all dogs, and will try to attack them. If you just let her have it out with them It'll be better in the long run.

walk her where there is no loose dogs. do NOT let her loose,, try to SHOO away the loose dog,, perhaps an air horn or water gun will help you

you should quickly pull him away. And then let him know that he shouldnt do that anymore. Be very tough. You might want to try a chain coller so every time you pull back it chockes them, it doesnt hurt them but he then knows he shouldnt do that

Try to pull her away but if you get entangled LET GO FAST german shepards are REALLY strong! But afterwards say no and cancel the walk or whatever.

if you can avoid the fight then avoid the fight - try not to let your dog strike first so it will be self defense - i hate to say leave the leash on your dog but if you do take it off of her theyll most likely charge you with no leash - and may say you cohearsed your dog to fight - leaving you as liable as the owner of the other dog
