boy or girl? The two maltese I know are Versace (male) and Mia (female). I also like Bella, Tia and Ladybug aka "Lady" for a girl.

I have a little female Maltese, her name is Isis, I also call her Bitty. My other two dogs are Cupid and Duchess.

Remember try to use only one or two syllable names as it is easier in training, also try not to pick names that could be confused by the dog as 'command' words, ie. sit, heel, stay.

Please make sure that you read all you can about Maltese dogs before getting one, they are not as independant as, say a German Shepard. They are also EXTREMELY picky with their tastes for food and they are not the type of dog that can afford you to 'wait until she is hungry enough, she will eat eventually' because of their size they need to eat regularly. This has been and ongoing thing with me and Isis, one day she will love one food, the next she will not touch it. They are also not the type of dog that will do well at all if left alone often, they NEED a lot of companionship. Like many toy breeds, they can be prone to blood sugar dropping, this is very serious. They are very moody and show their feelings well. If you don't have time to devote EVERY day to brushing please consider another breed as one missed day can cause big knots and be a pain. Be sure before you bring her home you get all suggested supplies you read about. I also have friends that have both a male and female and they say that the personalities between male and female are like night and day.
