What small dog breed that doesnt sheed and is great with childen2007-11-25 2:53:11

Please!! Our Yorkie is dieing ang we know he is going down so we are going to get a puppy later!

Bichon Frise! Get a Bichon Frise! They're great little dogs, and don't shed much! (although they lose hair just like humans do) I have a Bichon, and she's a sweetheart! The only thing is you have to brush them often, but they're totally worth it!

Bichon Frise is GREAT. I have a Bichon Frise Poodle mix, absoloutley adorable (looks sorta like a maltese) and shes around little children who are allergic to dog (since she doesnt shed its not a problem for allergies) and she is so friendly. You cant go wrong.

Australian Terriers are pretty good. They do not shed and need only medium activity to stay healthy. They have yorkie coloring but are larger and sturdy.

Bichon Frise. Do require regular grooming though probably no more than your current yorkie does. If you want a small breed they are sturdy and extremely playful and amiable. Very good natured little creatures; never met a snappy one (which is more than I can say for yorkies, sorry to say...)

We are sorry to hear about your current pupper; it is never easy to lose a good friend but it's a credit to him that you want another dog.

The Australian terrier that someone mentioned also is a great little breed. Not as nervous and yappy as most terriers.

I would recommend a poodle. I have had 3. They dont shed, though they do require a trip to the groomers once in a while for a cut. They are so loveable. I honestly think that they are the perfect dog. My neices come over and grab her pick her up by her neck, all the things that small children do to pets, and she just sits there and takes it.
