What to do about neighbors dog who whines all day2007-11-25 2:53:14

My neighbors got a new dog and she started jumping the fence into my yard. I have 2 dogs of my own and the neighbor now has 3 dogs. This new dog whines ALL day long now that they have her chained out doors. Is it wrong of me to complain about it when I know that the reason she is chained up is because I said I didn't want her in my yard with my dogs and kids?

Well. Hmmm.. If it was anything else, I would say yeah it's wrong of you to complain. But you aren't really complaining about the whining necessarily you should be complaining about how the dog is being treated..

So like ' I didn't like your dogs in my yard, but I REALLY don't like that poor dog having to pay for something that isn't his fault, just because he is a dog ' Maybe you guys could come to some sort of compromise?? I know you shouldn't be compromising, cause he is at fault..

Like maybe you guys could take his dog along on a walk with you your kids and your dogs???

Or just turn him in for tying out the dog.. I like compromising better cause you don't want him to just take and get the dog put to sleep or something cause it's bugging and is a pain.

haha yeah its fine if you ask them to get a bark collar or something for the dog. if that doesnt work, go the Texas route, get a BB (pellet) gun and shoot it in the butt, it'll quit, promise! it worked with our neighbors dog who always jumped the fence

Call your local animal control or humane society and complain. That's annoying, we have a neighbor that ties up their boxer at night and he whines & howls all night long. Very annoying. I have called animal control twice, but the dog is always inside when they come during the day..

The reason she's chained up is because your neighbors didn't want her in their house. You're not to blame just because you didn't want some scud missile dog flying over your fence and landing in your yard.

How sad for the poor dog. Maybe you could give your neighbor some advise how to build a fence for their dog. They can choose chicken wire, which is very inexpensive. To chain a dog all day is a terrible thing. Dogs are pack animals and they like to associate with other dogs, the dog is probably very lonely and is trying to befriend your dogs.
