What to do about pain in the butt neighbor2007-11-25 2:53:14

I live in town, there is a house to one side of us, pretty close. we have lived there for 4 years. always had the same dogs. (4 to be exact) one year ago he left a note telling us not to let the dogs out in the middle of the night ( I had a baby,would get up in the middle of the night to feed him & let the dogs out) anyways so I stopped letting them out when I got up to feed my son. now, 8 days ago he verbally attacked my husband with my one year old standing there (i wasnt home) mother f'd him up & down (no warning) saying that if he was the man of the house he would make me get rid of those dogs. (there was alot more) so we went & purchased $250 worth of bark collars since he said that was the problem. Since then hey havent so much as made a peep. So last night he has his mom call the cops (she lives in florida, we live in ohio) and told them that our dogs were upsetting her son (he is 40 yrs old by the way) so the cops came & sat at our house for an hour, never heard a sound.

Honey, the cops can do nothing if there isn't a real disturbance, he can call the cops all they want, and the cops may visit you once in a while, but after long enough they will tell him that he is being ridiculous. What you can do on the other hand is call the cops yourself and tell them that he is harrassing you.

get a restraining order and if that don't work hire someone to kick him in the nuts

see a lawyer regarding harrassment charges. even if you never file charges, a lawyer's letter to your neighbor might be enough to shut him up. also, if the cops are called too many times for nonsense they will file their own complaint against your neighbor. speak to the police dept and ask how to handle them.

If your dogs are truly not being a problem, then this is a harassment issue. If this keeps up you are able to take legal action.

Maybe you should call the cops on him. Complain about him being a nuisance. And if he doesn't stop bothering you guys and you personally feel threatened by him you should put a restraining order on him.
