What to do if dog cant excersize because arthritis
also diet food does not work still overwight by 20lbs, please help
Answers:I assume the dog is on anti-inflammatories to assist the arthritis?
You do need your dog to lose weight, as you know. It will help the pain no end. Diet food DOES work - if you have the right stuff and use it correctly. I know this because I run weight clinics and use Hills r/d, so I can guarantee that works for starters. I have a couple of dogs who can't exercise due to joint problems - they can still lose weight. I also have two cats who barely move and they're losing weight too.
Feel free to email me for advice. I really do recommend Hills r/d, I haven't yet met a circumstance where it can't help. I have some clients who have been on the stuff for ages with no improvement, so they claim it 'doesn't work'. I get them to come and see me once a fortnight, and I show them that it DOES work - you just have to adjust the amount regularly according to the amount of weight your dog is or isn't losing.
Like I say, for weight loss advice feel free to email me!

try talking to your vet about water therapy its very good for dogs with arthritis and it keeps the weight off the joints good luck
just make sure it eats healthy
there is not much you can do. if the vet can give you
a pain pill for him he might be able to go for a slow
small walk with you. or you might want to try a bayer
aspirin which might help for a little bit. just give him
lots of love and kisses and keep using the diet food.
