What to do when a dog bites you2007-11-25 2:53:15
My dog is already 7 years old, but we bought him after he was mis treated, so it was always stuck in his head. My dog is VERY VERY territorial. he is a fairly small dog, about 13 lbs. when he bites, do you yell at him or what. dont think im an idiot for saying that, but we've tried everything and we cant stop it.
Answers:well there isn't much u can do hes kinda set in his ways..its sad to say but most dogs like that get put to sleep..its so sad cuz its really not thier fault
grab something and bash it to the dog's head.
Keep a spray bottle of plain water handy and give him one or two squirts when he misbehaves. And say NO
no you do not yell at him, try petting him under his chin. I'd recommend you buy this book Paul Newman. You need to give it time for the dog to settle in your home. I'm not a good explainer tho :-)
go to the doctors maybe.
If you get a spray bottle and spray him everytime he does anything like biting or whatever it my be he will learn that he isn't suppose to do that. my aunt did that to her cat and it stopped biting and climbing on things
Make sure your up to date on your tetnus shots.
Don't yell at your dog. That just adgitates it. Get it by the scruff of the neck on the ground, and go no. but in a very calm voice but put volume into it so your dog knows that its being bad. also you can spray it with a spray bottle.
A 7 year old animal with a history of abuse and territorial, aggressive behavior is going to be a big challenge to retrain,
