What to do with a Smelly Lab
I have a six year old, neutered (male), white lab. We are having a problem because he seems to have bad gas. this could be due to stress because we haven't had him very long but he is in good health and is the right weight. what can we do to stop the stench?
Answers:you are useing the wrong dog food go to the vets or call and ask what to feed him to take care of the problem
my dog has really bad gas she's a black lab it's because they eat too fast and get air in their stomach
try and give him a bath
after play with him and make sure he gets lots of exersie
Open the wondows and talk to your vet.
There are several things that you can do, but the first thing is to talk to your vet & get a physical so that you can rule out stomach / intestinal problems.
Then, your vet will probably recommend a dog foot like Iams or Science Diet. They are good but pretty expensive. So, here's what we've done with our lab.
1. We've started feeding him smaller portions more often. We also make sure that he's fed by himself so that he's not shoveling it in trying to keep the other dogs from taking it.
2. Plain yogurt. The asodophylis [sp.?] is really good for gassy people & even dogs. Don't know how it works exactly, I just know that it does.
Hope this helps.
Kathy M is right.
