Goldens are no different than any other dog. They need all the routine shots from your vet. Most vets have a puppy package which includes all the puppy shots and a 1 months supply of heatworm meds. Rabies is extra.
A good quality Golden should cost 600 dollars and up. Anything under that I'd have a really long look at and do alot of checking into the background.
Here where I live a good Golden with all health certifications start at $1,000.00. good luck with your search. They are the best dogs!
Almost all dogs need the same shots and it doesn't vary by breed. First and foremost, Rabies/Parvo vaccines are a must. Heartworm/deworming medications are a possibility.
If it's feasable to you, get him a microchip. Ask your veterinarian about these.

YOu nead to get all the booster shots they will be aroung 9- 12 and wormer and at 6 months you will nead a rabi shot 15. Call youre breeder or a groomer they may have shots cheeper than a vet but yu do want the vet to check out youre baby.
The same as any dog.: parvo, rabies, DHLP,Kennel Cough, and there are some new strains of kennel cough that need a booster now. and they need teeth cleaning every year. cost is relative to where you live and what the cost of living is. your vaccinations may be given through a "clinic" that your vet provides. Or the spca may provide a low cost vaccination clinic but you should contact them to see when the do it.Check with your local community colleges that offer vet tech programs because they also offer low cost vaccination clinics just call and ask when the offet these clinics.
No different than any other breed. Generally, boosters are recommend around 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age. AT A VET. Please do not risk your dogs health w/ the feed store vaccines. they are not guaranteed and do you really want to chance it? Deworming and heartworm prevention as well. Rabies will be given (only by a vet) at 16 weeks. Spay or neuter around 6mos of age. Consider microchiping your pet as well. I am a vet tech and can not tell you how wonderful it is to reunite a family w/ their pet simply because it had a microchip. As for prices, please check w/ you local vet. Hope all this helps. Keep in mind. these guys are expensive but truly wonderful animals and great companions.
