My 7 wk old lab is driving me nuts lol! I am crate training her and the first 3 days she would cry to go potty in the middle of the night. I would get up and take her out a couple times a night. Now all of a sudden she's not waking me up and when I get up at 5am she has already peed in her kennel. Should I put her and her kennel in my bedroom at night so that I can hear the slightest wimper? I have heard that they shouldnt be in a person bedroom, but thats how I trained my shi-tzu. Any thoughts?

Also, do labs have to chew on everything they can put their mouths on? Everything but the toys I give her lol. Even the dang floor! OMG WHAT WAS I THINKING LOL!

Answers:

At 7 weeks she is pretty young. Most pups shouldn't leave Mom until 8 weeks. Limit her fluids after dinner. You might want to let her out right before you go to bed. I would keep her in my bedroom. You might have to get up in the middle of the night. Her bladder just isn't that big. She will sleep through the night eventually, just hang in there.

Labs are BEAVERS! They will chew everything. Don't let her be unsupervised at anytime. I would make sure you give her plenty of exercise. That will also help with behavior problems. The redemning quality is that you will never find a more loving and wonderful breed.

Maybe you should just get up when you know she goes to the bathroom.

it is a puppy... they act that way, give it some time and make sure you are on a consistant schedule.

How long are you leaving her in there between trips outside? 7 weeks is pretty young, so you should be taking her out every couple of hours.
