What was I thinking
Also, yes labs must chew everything, I used to have a lab that chewed through the wall in my living room and I found him in the garage. There was a 3-4 foot hole that he chewed through. They are very destructive for about the first year to year and a half so good luck.
In a way I can't help but agree with your first responder.
You know she's going in her crate sometime in the night so set a second alarm clock to wake you up half-way thru the night to let her out.
A 7 week old puppy cannot be expected to hold it all night long. It's just like a human baby in many ways.
And yes dogs chew on everything they can get their mouths on.Toys will not hold their interest if you don't play with them too.
I don't buy too many red or blue toys for my dogs. They won't touch them unless they make several different sounds.Dogs see various shades of yellow or white for these colors. My kitchen floor is yellow and the carpet is a light tan so I think these colors may blend in some with the floors.
Take her out every 3-4 hrs at night and when you crate her again give her a kong stuffed with peanut butter to chew until she gets tired enough to go to sleep again or a toy that has alot of squeakers in it or maybe one that talks.
If you're going to p[ut her in puppy jail the least you can do is give her something to keep her occupied.
