Meat, vegetables, etc. aren't people food, it's just food. So if a dog eats that stuff, it's just fine. Now, junk food - potato chips, icecream, candy, yadayada is people food and the same thing will happen to dogs as happens to people - obesity, malnutrtion, and overall poor health if eaten overtime. If your dogs gets an occasional potato chip, then no big deal.

It depends on the food. Some foods like chocolate and onions are poisonous to dogs. Other foods like apples, dogs can eat but while it's not bad for them, it's not necessarily good for them either. It doesn't hurt them. Also people food can cause obesity. Don't make it a habit and never feed the dog from the table. It can lead to other unwanted behavior. Check the internet for other harmful people foods.

It's ok for your dog to eat human food just stay away from chocolate and stuf that is packed with sugar. Your dog will love chicken nuggets, my dog does and my moms boss/landlords 11 year old dog does!

There is nothing wrong with cooking for your dog, just avoid things like, onions, green tomatoes and seeds of most fruits and chocolate.

I have a number of my students that cook for their pets. They simply set aside a portion of whatever is being cooked for their dinner, for the dog. Separate the food before you add any spices or the foods that I listed above and you should be fine. Avoid sweet, sugary or greasy foods as they will only add pounds to your pet. You can give them a mix of meat and veggies and a quarter of a medium apple for dessert (remember to take the seeds out).
