Take a towel and pat where the urine is at. Try to get as much of it up as possible.Just pat though. Then pour the vinegar over the area and let stand for a few seconds.Then take another towel and pat that area. Try to get as much of the vinegar up as possible. Let the area dry. For how much vinegar use as much as it takes to cover the area well.

That works for me. I have a puppy in the house and just finally got her house broke.

You would want to make sure that the padding is pulled out from under the carpet, if there is one. Carpet cleaning machines don't go down that far. And the padding doesn't dry out , therefore leaving odor, and the chance for mold growth.

Also, if you do remove the pad, and are able to get the carpet clean, disinfect the concrete and the top and bottom of the carpet. That should take care of the problem. If the odor remains on the concrete, you can use a sealer, like binz, or killz to seal it.

I like Nature's Miracle. One trick our dog trainer told us was you can discourage your dog from returning to pee in that spot if you put food on the area-- after you've properly cleaned up the pee, of course. (It's just the lingering smell which will attract him back).

I have never tried this but I think someone told me you can use AWESOME.
