I would go with group classes as they socialize the dog with other dogs and people. Also when you are in a class with other dogs and owners, there is a little bit of a competitive spirit (for want of a better expression) that encourages you to work more with your dog between classes, you don't want him to show poorly when you go back next week, you want him to shine!
a mix of both beginning with a group class followed by individual to address problems discovered during class.
i would go to group training because it will benefit your dog not just by training but being in a room with many people AND being around other dogs.
it depends on your dog really. your pet may be well behaved on it's own but what about when you bring other dogs within 5 feet of them? i always see group classes as being better as they're a bit more fun and it's a great way to socialize your furkid. it's also fun later on when you get pretty good to be able to strut your stuff in fron t of other people. lol, jk. also it depends on you as well, do you get nervous when other people are around watching you or when your one on one with an instructor? group classes are also cheaper if that needs to be put into the equation.
I personally feel it is better to train in a group enviroment as it help to teach the dog to ignore other distractions around it
I would recommend the group classes for a well-behaved dog because even dogs benefit from the competition. Well, okay, so it's actually the owners that work harder so that they're not shown up by the other students. But the dogs do reap the benefits. The repetition of being in a group and still being well-behaved is priceless for the adult dog.
It's always nice to have another person to gage your own performance against.
Do the group, if you find that you need additional help, you can always attend a refresher in private class.
