Whats happening my dog is in season at 5 months2007-11-25 2:53:53

she is going to get spayed but vet wants her to go through one season before we spay her. (i dont need to be told to get her done its in process!) but she is only 5 months old and is bleeding already i think this is very early she is a gsd. when we got her the jokers who sold her too us (we started to realise he was a joker after we got her he did alot of things wrong) said she was 10 weeks old and her bday was 5th feb but this didnt work out we worked out 10 weeks to 5th january but he also said it was a saturday when she was born which would make it 6th january!!! the breeder (he likes to be called a breeder) has moved house and changed phone numbers after we got her so i cant clarify any info with him. the vet said when we took her she was healthy and our dates made more sense with it been bank holiday i cant take her down to make sure everythigs ok but have you ever heard of 5 months coming into season?

5 months is an appropriate age for a b*tch to come into season. The general age is 6 months old but just like with humans, there is no specific age where a female gets her period - dogs aren't any different in that respect.

The breeder you got her from is beyond stupid and you really should have done your research on him before you purchased her. Anyway, I'm sure you're very happy with her so it doesn't matter that much now.

Smaller breeds tend to come in heat earlier. It's early, but not impossible. I agree with you though, someone fudged on the dates.
