Canidae. It dramatically reduced the amount of gas and poop our boxer produced. They don't have to eat near as much of it as they do the cheap stuff either.

Raw or homecooked...but if you wish to feed a commercial food, Innova EVO, Merrick, Chicken Soup, Canidae, etc are all good. Except those that have been recalled, eek!

Science Diet, Eukanuba, IAMS, Pedigree, Purina, are all not appropriate foods. Too many grains, fillers, by products, etc.

One of the better kibble brands out there that hasn't been on the recall list is Bil-Jac. They use only USA grown ingredients - both the meat and the grain (if the variety you choose has grain in it).

Also, EVO is a good brand. I believe they are a USA grown ingredient company as well.

I say Purina Pro Plan. It is healthy, the dogs love it, and it REALLY helps with shedding! My vet reccommended it to me! Most of all----IT IS NOT ON THE CONTAMINATED LIST!

My 4 Chihuahua's all have Wellness. It's human grade food with almost all ingredients (98.5%) from either the US or Canada. I think this is really important with all the recalls going on with stuff that comes from China.

Waltham - my vet recommended it to me a year ago. Have had great success with it. Its expensive, but they do not eat as much, actually it cost me less per year to use this brand.

There are a few really good brands out there. But most of the ones carried on store shelves are not that good, and contain ingredients that have a bad effect on your dog's health and behavior.
