What's the best dog breed to get for first time owners?

Go to a rescue not a shelter. They will work with you. We are always on hand to make things enjoyable and workable with you and your family and new pet. Don't judge by breed. Go pick one that attaches to you and you to them. Don't ask on here what someone else likes, I actaully have a mean Newf so not all newfs are great ( I love her though)

for me its the chihuahua.. its a small dog.. and eay to handle too.

King charles spaniel, they are loving, dont need to much exercise and are easy to manage, I should know I have 2!!

Probably a bichon - amiable, relatively small, sturdy, not too headstrong or independent, needs relatively little exercise, but does require regular grooming. Easy to manage.

It depends on what size dog you want and what characterists you are looking for. Remember every breed has different needs and a different personality to match.

-A pug is a small lap type dog that does not require a lot of exercise but does require ALOT of attention and can not be left outside or alone for too long.
