I have never seen a dog balk at a raw diet.

BEWARE of the current dog food crisis affecting many different popular brands of food. Until that contamination issue is sorted out, I wouldn't recommend buying any food that has been recalled.

Everyone has personal favorites as to how to feed their dog. Are you looking for a raw diet? Or kibble? Both can be very healthy as long as you get premium food.

If you're looking for kibble, you might try http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com . This site rates most of the dry dog foods currently on the market by a star system (6 stars being best). Just check the review section to find it. You can review the ingredients and choose the premium level you'd like your akita to have.

As for an all-around supplement, we use two: C-Biotic from Wysong (http://www.wysong.net ) and NR Seaweed Mineral Food (http://www.naturalrearing.com ).

You should not have to give your dog supplements unless she is on a special diet or her certain health problems, and in that case, your vet would recommend what supplements you should give her. If you dog is healthy and normal, her regular food should be nutritionally complete. If her regular food is lacking in nutritional value, it's time to switch foods.
