Whats the best thing to give a 2 week old puppy for the runs2007-11-25 2:53:56

My boxer gave birth to 8 puppies 2 weeks ago but sadly 7 died within 2 days, the one that's left keeps getting bouts of the runs, we've tried antibiotics, starving her for 24 hrs and rehydrated her but she just keeps going back to getting the runs. I've also tried natural yogurt too. Oh I forgot to say that I am having to feed her myself as mum isn't interested in feeding her after losing the other 7. She's being fed on Lactol plus vitamins and I am sterilizing all the instruments used in the feeding process. I am so worried that she will die and having spent the last 2 weeks feeding and looking after her I will be gutted if that happened. HELP!!!

get a bottle of kaolin from the chemist and give the A SMALL AMOUNT AROUND ONE ML THAT WILL STOP THE RUNS DO THIS TWICE A DAY FOR A DAY AND THE RUNS WILL SETTLE also change the milk get a tin of evaporated milk and water it down 1water 2 evaporated milk Luke warm also put a small amount of glucose in feed and try giving the pup that instead of the lactol and make sure that you give the pup with a syringe plenty of water not cold but at room temp you relay need to stop that milk if you work hard you wont lose that pup if the pup was going to die it would of died by now the first 14days is the worse but i cant understand why you are giving the pup vitamins the milk you have the pup on is full of vitamins but i don't think that milk you are giving the pup is good for him be strong if you can get that pup to take a little solid like sausage or weetabix put a little on your finger and put it on the roof of the pups mouth and i bet he will eat it but only a little at a time be strong you can with a lot of work save that pup try and get him to eat a little soft food and often and make sure he drinks you can do it if you have to sit with him all nite and day so what ive done it and never lost a sick pup yet REG BREEDER OF BICHON FRISE GOOD LUCK
