Neither...A fence (of any kind) is permanant, and SAFER. They don't allow other dogs in your yard, and KEEP your dogs in your yard. Those "containment systems" rely on a shock or "training reminder" and any dog who is strong willed or very curious, can risk the momentary shock, to go after what is inticing him, and they still require your interaction with the dog for training, and they are expensive too.

If you have a Large Breed dog, neither one will work well enough.

An above ground hot fence with a charger will work.
